Phil went in town yesterday and I stayed on the boat. He had to go to the customs building to figure out how to get the alternators here. Seems you have to use a broker to help you clear customs and pay import duty fees. It can get very complicated!! We are using Reggie's Express out of Ft. Lauderdale. They have a plane that comes here once a week. We won't get our alternators for awhile!
We have been Dinking around and just relaxing. Found a new restaurant called St. Francis that had very good conch fritters...better than Phil's!! We met a family from Texas at the restaurant, they were complaining to us about the food here. They were upset that there wasn't a Mexican restaurant in Georgetown!! They usually vacation in Cozumel Mexico. Kind of took us by surprise!
Really excited about getting company this weekend!! Can't wait to share our adventures with Nick, Nancy, and Jessy! It will be nice to have some girls on the boat and I'm sure Phil is excited to have another guy to talk to. We find ourselves talking to the dogs like they are humans....more than usual! Wierd thing is...I think the Chewdog really understands us!!

You should have your guests bring the spare parts with them. Does this mean the trip is coming to an end and you will be heading home?
ReplyDeleteWe weren't sure when they would be in Florida. West Marine will send them straight to Reggie's in Ft Lauderdale. We would still have the whole customs issue. We are planning on heading back the end of June. That's when our 3 months are up.
ReplyDeleteSarasota will get the alternators on Monday. Nick leaving on Saturday.
